Much inspired me in NYC as I lived their for more than thirty-seven years.
I got to know Prospect Park well during those years. I became inspired to paint this portrait of the park after walking through the park one morning in the early-morning sunlight. That image always haunted me so in the winter of 2021 I started the piece - only to break my ankle about a third of the way into it. About six weeks later I managed to finish the painting - even while still nursing a tender foot.

Paterson Great Falls - acrylic on canvas - 36" x 48" x 1.5" - 2022
Even though I grew up in northern New Jersey, I admit I never had the chance to explore the state in the way I've been able to more recently. So, I took a trip to Paterson one afternoon and spent time photographing the falls. I found this view amazing, since it's so foreign to Paterson, New Jersey's third largest city.
The falls here are a real treasure - tucked somewhat discreetly into the background of this city.

Inspired by Letchworth State Park in Castile, New York. This is a more expressionistic interpretation of the 14,427-acre park. Letchworth is often referred to as the Grand Canyon of the East and sits on the deep gorge of the Genesee River.

Eureka 4 is the 4th painting I've created which captures time spent in Eureka, California. It was amazing because the light had nearly disappeared and so the entire atmosphere seemed black and white - except for some colorful vegetation punctuation.
